Police data shows a decline in British road accident fatalities

The Department for Transport (DfT) has reported 316 fewer fatalities as a result of road accidents in Great Britain in 2009 than the previous year.

Traditional census form 'has had its day'

This report from the Treasury Committee, 'Counting the Population' (HC 183-I), examines the process of counting the population and the problems faced by local authorities in estimating what is a highly mobile population in their areas. A number of these problems became visible during the 2001 Census.

UK Immigration Statistics for 2005

Immigration control regulates the entry and refusal of entry of passengers into the UK; the conditions of stay and any variations following entry; settlement and deportation. In 2005 the estimated number of international arrivals from outside the Common Travel Area rose by 5% while asylum applications, excluding dependants, fell by 24%.
