teachers in England and Wales.
The School Teachers’ Review Body
(STRB) was established in 1991 as an independent body to examine and report on
matters relating to the statutory conditions of employment of school teachers
in England and Wales, when requested by the Secretary of State for Children,
Schools and Families. Part Eight of the Education Act 2002 is the legal
foundation for the function and work of STRB. This Report covers teachers' pay
in the current period and from September 2008.
The STRB recommend:
- An increase of 2.45% from September 2008 for qualified teachers
- A review of teachers’ pay to be undertaken for the period to September
2009, to be published as a report in June 2009
