NHS, armed forces and prison officers’ pay reviewed

Summary

These Reports review the salaries of the armed forces, senior civil servants, prison offers and health professionals, including doctors, dentists and nurses.

Recommendations set out in these Reports are applicable from 1 April 2007.

Armed Forces’ Pay Review Body: Thirty-Sixth Report 2007 (Cm 7016)

The Report of the Armed Forces' Pay Review Body contains recommendations for the pay levels for members of the naval, military and air forces. Key recommendations include a 3.3% increase in military salaries.

Review Body on Senior Salaries: Twenty-Ninth Report 2007 (Cm 7030)

This Report from the Review Body on Senior Salaries examines the remuneration of holders of judicial office, senior civil servants (including the Prime Minister, Ministerial posts and Members of Parliament), senior officers of the armed forces and other such public appointments.

Prison Service Pay Review Body: Sixth Report on England and Wales 2007 (Cm 7041)

This is the Sixth Report on England and Wales from the Prison Service Pay Review Body with recommendations for the pay arrangements of prison governors and officer grades. Key recommendations include a 2.5% increase in basic pay for principal officers, senior officers and operational support grades.

Prison Service Pay Review Body: Fifth Report on Northern Ireland 2007 (Cm 7042)

This is the Fifth Report on Northern Ireland from the Prison Service Pay Review Body with recommendations for the pay arrangements of prison governors and officer grades applicable from 1 April 2007. Key recommendations include a basic pay award for all grades of 2% per year.

Review Body for Nursing and Other Health Professions: Twenty-Second Report 2007 (Cm 7029)

This is the Twenty-Second Report from the Review Body for Nursing and Other Health Professions with recommendations for the pay arrangements of health professionals, applicable from 1 April 2007. Key recommendations include a 1.9% rise for nurses and 1.3% for hospital doctors.

Review Body on Doctors' and Dentists' Remuneration: Thirty-Sixth Report 2007 (Cm 7025)

This is the Thirty-Sixth Report from the Review Body on Doctors' and Dentists' Remuneration with recommendations for the pay arrangements of health professionals, applicable from 1 April 2007. Key recommendations include a cash amount of £1,000 per annum be added to each point in the pay scale for consultants, staff and associate specialists/non-consultants, and no increase in GPs' pay.
