This White Paper, ‘Government Response to the Constitutional Affairs Select Committee Report' (Cm. 7187), contains the Government response to 'Freedom of Information: Government's Proposals for Reform' (HC 415) published by the Constitutional Affairs Select Committee in June 2007.

Governance of Britain: protest, war making and judicial appointments

In July 2007, 'The Governance of Britain' (Cm. 7170) presented the Government's proposals for constitutional renewal.

The four main themes of the Governance of Britain series are:

  • Limiting the power of the executive
  • Making the executive more accountable
  • Re-invigorating democracy
  • The relationship between the citizen and the state.

This Report, ‘The Funding of Science and Discovery Centres’ (HC 903-I), examines the role and effectiveness of science centres, how science centres are co-ordinated and organised, and how they are funded.

Economic impact of immigration revealed

This Report, 'The Economic and Fiscal Impact of Immigration' (Cm. 7237), has been produced as a cross-departmental submission to the inquiry being conducted by the House of Lords Select Committee on Economic Affairs into the economic impact of immigration in the UK.

This publication, 'The Annual Report of Her Majesty's Chief Inspector of Education, Children's Services and Skills 2006/07' (HC 1002), brings together Office for Standards in Education, Children's Services and Skills (Ofsted) inspection and regulation data covering the period from September 2006 to August 2007.

Family mediation reviewed

This Report, 'Legal Services Commission: Legal Aid and Mediation for People Involved in Family Breakdown' (HC 396), examines the shortcomings of the current system for referring clients to mediation in situations of family breakdown.
