Summary

This publication, Home Office Departmental Report 2007, reviews the Home Office's performance against Spending Review 2004 targets and on key objectives in 2006-07.

The Report also evaluates success in delivering the key objectives in 2006–07:

  • Protection from terrorist attack
  • Cutting crime
  • More visible, responsive and accountable local policing
  • Rebalancing the criminal justice system
  • Managing offenders
  • Securing the UK’s borders.

Further, the publication examines progress in reform programmes addressing the Home Office, the criminal justice system and the immigration system, including the Reform Action Plan to reshape the Home Office.
