Summary

The inaugural Report from the new Committee on Climate Change (CCC), 'Building a Low-Carbon Economy - the UK's Contribution to Tackling Climate Change', offers independent and expert analysis of current levels of greenhouse gas emissions and the steps that the United Kingdom (UK) will need to take in order to significantly reduce emissions and tackle climate change.

The Report advises on the levels of the first three carbon budgets from 2008-2022 and what the long-term climate reduction target should be to 2050.
